They will work on wallows, scrapes, food plots but the trigger time is slow for "trail" use. I actually just bought a couple myself. I have a lot of expensive C cell rechargables and a couple of my older cameras crapped out so what the heck, can't go wrong as long as they work. Like I said, I will put them on food sources and scrapes for deer so they will be fine. As far as the flash, I really found that the flash spooks deer less than the long glow of the LED style. I think the flash happens so fast they think it is lightning or just don't know what the heck happened. I always put my cameras on 2 picture multi-shot and my results is deer are missing in the second picture much more with the LED cams than the flash.
