I value the quality of experience and the opportunity to find land not crawling in orange hunters over trophy class animals. Do you have any suggestions to avoid the crowds and actually have a semi-decent hunt without struggling to escape other hunters?

Is it possible to hunt WY general rifle without stock or llamas & find decently unpressured land? would it be better to hunt the last week of the season in hopes most of the general crowds are off the mountains?

It isn’t specific to WY, but if you are willing to hunt more grizzly dense areas that will definitely weed out a number of other hunters.

Yes and yes, you probably aint held a Wy general before buts its a great tag and better than many limited entry tags in other states. Just go when you want its not a sea of orange except for a few areas and honestly weather can be bigger concern most years (except last couple). Good luck if you can draw the tag...

Plan your routes to avoid trails and closed roads to avoid people, but if the elk have cover they might not be far from the road, lots of horse hunters going deep. The crowds thin out pretty quickly after opening weekend if you avoid the high traffic areas, weather is pretty unpredictable and the forecasts are usually generic beyond a few days, you're pretty much at the weather's mercy, so plan to hunt as much as you can.

I've gone along in WY LQ hunts before (benefits of being a then-resident) but not general and never as a tag holder.
