I have a 22-250 rifle…need a suitable scope. I have a nice Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x50, sitting on my .223…and a Weaver V 16 in my gun cabinet. Any suggestions from 22-250 owners?

Are you wanting to dial or just use holdover? I've become a big fan of the Trijicon Credo HX line. Good balance of pretty decent glass, usable reticle without being cluttered, solid dialing system and at a lower price point than similar NFs or Swaros.

Shooting coyotes, probably 80% of your shots will be under 200 yards, some at 50.
If you sight in about 2" high at 100, you will be "just" hold on target, and you're in the kill zone out over 300 yards. I use a Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40mm Riflescope $299

On mine. It's light and fast, no thinking. When I sit in tight cover, it's on 3, and when I'm out in the open, it's on 5. You will have plenty of time to crank it up if needed. Everything else on a scope is just added weight and clutter in the reticle.
That's my take on it.

For almost 40 years I've had a 10x40 Weaver on my .22-250. Last month I replaced it with a Leupold VX Freedom 4-12x40 CDS scope. So far I've only zeroed it at 100 yds and haven't dialed it in on any longer yardages.
