New Mexico 51

Was wondering if anyone else was going to unit 51 in New Mexico. Last year we got a 285 6x6 and a cow in the 1st archery season. Arrowed a 300+ bull the third day of the season but after tracking for almost a mile he dried up, poor shot selection.

Anyone else going there for either archery season?

I have rifle hunted it in the past. That is some nice country. The elk in my avatar is from 52, across the hwy.

I'll be there for Muzzle Loader season, and my son will be there for the Youth Encouragement hunt over Christmas.

I hunt or help friends hunt this unit most years. Recent Intel is always good. I'll be busy with a NM 53 deer hunt and WY 41 elk hunt before my 51 elk hunt, so may not have much time to scout 51 this year.
