Grand poopa
So.... I slip out on a solo trip this morning. I dinked around with the camcorder (Not easy with only one person.). I had a hen and a drake come in 8 mins after light and I was messing with the camcorder and she almost flew into me but I didn't get it on film nor did I shoot either one ..
Then there was a Single hen Fly in and about the same thing happened.
So I set the camcorder up on a Tripod behind me and knowing I had 50 mins left of film I jsut let it roll. not 5 mins later 3 ducks came over. I knew the spot I set the camcorder to view so When they took a REAL close by flight I stayed hunkered down. They baned and Circled around and I had the same thing happen. Almost I thought, Well within distance but in the wrong coridor... then here they come again... Right down the pike !!! 2 greeny's and a hen.... I wai .... I wait.... AND BANG !!!! BANG !!!! BANG !!!!! 3 birds come out of the air and I have it on film !!!
Or so I thought.....
I went and Found 2 of the ducks and looked for the 3rd for a long time. Not luck. I went back to see were the ducks fell on camcorder and I had Bumped it when I hit Record and walked away.
So.... I go back and spend another 10 mins looknig for this duck. a few others fly over but I tried ducking down while looking but I think I was always busted.
I gave up and sat in the blind, nothing coming in so I go look for Ducky again... Sure as Crap here comes the ducks. It was a Flight of about 45-50. I was in the Bushes looking for Ducky and Hunkered down. YES, My Rear right in the water, I was jsut wearing Hip boots. Fortunately they didn't fill up. the ducks circled 2 times then came in hard. YAH, I already had 1 hen which is the limit and there was so Many ducks all bunched up I let them go hoping a Greeny would come out of the group...... YEPPErs, Nothing
Anyway, Wife had a Meeting at 9AM but I had a Good day with my first ever 3 shots knocking 3 birds down. I looked for the 3rd bird once again before I left and Still nothing.
Heading out tonight for Deer. HAve a good weekend !!
