Montana Wolf Permits

When I was applying for my B tags I did not see an option for a wolf permit. Is there a reason why it is not available yet or am I missing something?

Thanks for the heads up! I have the 313-45 elk tag and want to have a wolf tag in my pocket just in case.

Still not seeing a wolf tag option... have you heard anything yet @Mthuntr? I wonder how much longer it will be before they are available. Cant believe they still arent available yet.

August 5th, per the FWP website: http://fwp.mt.gov/news/newsReleases/hunting/nr_1934.html#:~:text=Wolf Hunting and Trapping Licenses,residents and $250 for nonresidents.

Whoops, thats a little dated. Early August has traditionally when the licenses go on sale.

As long as you get it a few days in advance you should be fine, they have a 24hr rule once the season opens you have to wait 24hrs to hunt after purchase. Also, check the unit boundaries, the wolf unit 313 typically has a wolf sub quota, last year it was 1 wolf.
