Montana Elk odds

I'm just trying to figure out if trying to get an archery elk tag in Montana is easier than a rifle tag, for a nonresident? Or is it pretty much the same odds

same if you're talking general unit (because it doesn't require a special permit). Probably easier for archery in draw units depending on the unit.

Depends on the unit and season you are talking about. For the majority of non resident limited entry tags it is better odds for archery.

Same for gen tag. As far as permits go, it’s generally easier for archery. Visit the MFWP site and check out the draw odds. They are all there.
