Figured I would share this. From a target session a couple weeks . Then I cut the tree for firewood and by someone astronomical chance happenen to split the log on exactly the plane of the bullet path... This was from my 7mm rem mag at about 75yds, 140gr bullet.

Very cool, need to cut that piece of the log out and make it into some sort of cool decor for the hunting room etc.
 
Would have been interesting to shoot a barnes ttsx of same weight and speed above to see how they compared. I understand they are a good projectile, but have never used them.
 
Loved seeing that. The 139 GMX is my bullet in 280 and 7mag.
Never recovered one from a deer or elk but they probably looked just like your woodpile recovery.
