Greetings from interior Alaska!
I've lived in New Jersey, New Hampshire, Michigan,Utah, Montana, Idaho,
and for the past 25 years, interior Alaska. I've hunted and killed sheep, caribou, and moose.
Now that I'm turning 60, I'm hunting exclusively moose...I used to hunt turkeys,
and love the calling aspect of moose hunting.
One thing I've discovered is that 80 percent of hunters hunt within a mile of a road
or 4-wheeler trail or boatable river. Even in Alaska...moose hunting I boat 75 miles
and there is lots of river boat traffic. But I use a canoe to go where river boats can
not, and then use a sled and backpack to set up where a canoe can not go.
Then I have a quality hunt with no competition.
