Decided to walk a dry creek bottom before the day got hot. First three were all singles that held as tight as pheasants. Actually walked by them before they flew. My last bird came out of a covey of about 20 birds. Then on the walk back to the pickup I flushed two more big coveys of grouse. Probably seen over 50 birds. Kinda makes a guy want to get a bird dog again.

No dog? sinner..... :D
I’ve got two old dogs. A black lab and a griffin. Neither one can get into the back of the pickup anymore and any long walks will have the so stoved up the next day they can’t hardly move so they are retired
