I received a response from FWP. To their knowledge, it's not illegal to use game cams in Wilderness Act protected areas for my personal use. I've left a message with another source to make absolute certain. So far though, for those who would enforce such law, if it existed, there is no code to charge a person for this action.
During our conversation, FWP expounded on the use of trail/game cameras. I didn't know this portion changed.
Game cams are legal during the hunt season so long as the camera can not provide, "real time" pictures/video.
I’ve been told that anything left on federal land for more than 14 days can be considered abandoned. Atleast that’s what anti hunting BLM employees fall back on when they steal your cameras.
