Finally finding some birds

It's been probably the slowest mid- and late-duck-season I've had in the last 25 years, at least at my #1 and #2 spots. Several days I was only seeing 5 or 6 ducks a trip at my #1 spot, very discouraging. Not unusual to have a few slow days here and there in January, but this slump has been unprecedented.

So a week ago I started driving much further and found some birds, averaged 5 ducks a trip on 3 hunts, photo is limit from 3rd hunt. Dog is happy now. I am too, great to see 1000's of ducks instead of a handful, just wish the trip wasn't such a grind. Nonetheless I'll be going back soon.20210118_175156.jpg

Yes, this is the pintail spot, too bad the limit is only one, I've had 100's in range each trip. Had not shot one all year till I went to this place.
