Since I am already thinking about next season and September hunts, does anyone have personal experience using a Durston X-Mid tent? I don't think I am cool enough to warrant the Dyneema version, but have used a TarpTent for several years, and really like the packability and lightweight of these styles of shelters. They have held up surprisingly well in some serious thunderstorms, wind, etc.
Any thoughts? Pros and cons?

I have a 2P and it has held up pretty well. Packs down small and light. Pretty easy to pitch. I have only used it on a handful of trips. Obviously you make some tradeoffs with weight vs durability but happy so far.

I have the 2 person solid. Held up to rain, wind, light snow, and sleet so far. I also bought the carbon fiber poles. They were expensive, but worth it. It pitches fairly easy. Zippers work well. I don't know if a ground sheet is necessary, but I made one from black plastic sheet just to be safe. I can't speak of the pegs. I used some I already had. I would buy again if I could go back in time. Satisfied customer.

I’ve been thinking about getting the x dome to replace my Allak 2 if it ever sells. That or the tarptent scarp 1

I have the x mid 1 and the solid x mid 2 - more nights in the 1. It’s a great tent - super livable for the weight. I have not encountered any crazy conditions in either - some modest snow and decent winds and they have been fine. I have the inners for both and have used them with a without. Before I was using the SG sky ult tarp which is a bit lighter and smaller foot print but not nearly as nice to live out of - I still might bring it in certain instances though.
