I hunted it for several years, back when I lived in NM. At that time, there were not tons of elk and it was a difficult hunt. We hunted it every year, as it was 100 percent draw back then. It took me five years to finally kill a small bull and I never went back. We had a blast, though. I think that the elk herd is bigger now, which should make it a bit easier. There are some decent roads into the general area and then lots of foot work.
I have not been there in years, but you should have a fun hunt. There are some very large bulls in that area. There are lots of Abert's squirrels to hunt after the hunt is over, also.
