Set four snares yesterday; however had a harder time than expected using coat hangers to set loop with wami. Frozen ground and all Bought a spool of wire and gonna just try and wire it around fence or tree for more stability. I'm new to this. Any other advice on this new endeavor for me would be appreciated. Thanks.

I see coyote bow hunting regularly. Then when I hunt them, don't see squat but do see tracks. Hopefully, I will get lucky and snare one or two.

I'm no expert but here's a few tips. Spray paint the snares brown. Let hang outside to get smell off. If u have deep snow beat down a really good path w snowshoes or boots. Make the beaten down trail as long as u can thru good cover & coyotes & foxes will run that trail u beat down, for sure ! Set several snares on this run. Make the sets looks as natural as possible. Place sticks etc to steer them into the snare & right under the snare place a SMALL object to get them to lift their head alittle. But not too big to where they will walk around it. There's some ok videos on Youtube about snaring.

I use a 20" length of rebar with a piece of 9 wire wrapped tightly around the top with a 1' or so tail of the wire. You can pound the rebar into frozen ground and then place your whammy on the tail of wire to support your snare.
