Howdy. I have been wondering if anyone has seen any improvement in the BLM checkerboarding in any of the states out west? Seems I read somewhere about the government making some "deals" with private land owners to group these checkerboards in a more usable fashion so there aren't the "impassable" corners.

This one isn’t exactly checkerboard, but same concept. Land swap to consolidate some quality habitat on public land. Not going to happen overnight. I’d imagine there are lots of moving parts with grazing, mineral rights, etc. Easiest short term solution is expanding walk in hunting access on those private parcels.
