I have found sheds before in the NF here in the mountains of Virginia, but nothing like these. I know in some parts of the country these will only get a yawn. Not that common here, though. What makes these such a treat is that my season was a total bust. I saw way more flashlights than deer (Covid) no matter how far back in I went. I did see a rather large bear, however. And watched the same squirrel dodge an owl and later on a hawk. My only shot opportunity at a decent buck was during late muzzle loader. I was still hunting and he got up at 15 yards. Unfortunately, he ran straight away from me. Although I had enough time, I'm just not comfortable with that shot. I tried to get him to stop...hah!

Anyone else finding sheds, yet?

Those are great sheds for VA. national forest. Gonna be a good one this year. I am hoping to find the sheds to a real bruiser I saw in rifle in the next few months.

I am still getting pictures of bucks running around with their horns. I haven't had much luck finding sheds until late February.

330" sheds from my property. cool thing was I found the left one in 2018 and the the left one in 2019. They were about 500 yards from each other. Both were in perfect shape. #4 are thicker than my forearm

Several years ago I had two 6 pointers still in hard antler walk by me...during Spring turkey season in April. A few years ago a buddy and I were hunting the last week of the season (first week in January). He shot a small buck. Both antlers fell off when he rolled down the hill. All these were in the same region. Go figure.

Found another one that's pretty decent (only 1 side). Less than 50 yards from the tree I sat against several days! They're hard to see in the snow. You practically have to step on them. I also found one side of a much lesser 8-point last week about 30 yards from this one. Will be going back to continue looking for their mates. Nice to know at least three survived, considering all the shooting I heard all around me.

Your having a darn nice time. The mountain I check and find most has been snow covered for a month. Maybe I should get out there tomorrow and at least do some snow scouting to see patterns easier.

Here are a few I've found near the area I seen the big boy in this fall. The shed on my pack was found while rifle hunting this fall found another average shed that same day with 4 points walking out. The others I found over the last 3 springs walking the area. Most of those found within 500 yard area square here in public land.20201115_112243.jpgFB_IMG_1580822483808.jpg

Very nice! It takes a lot of walking. I almost always find some during Spring gobbler season.
