In the early 2000s I did the Starved Rock/Matheson State parks deer/doe only shoots. $5 a tag, shoot as many doe as you wanted. We filled the truck bed with doe and pinballed Utica/North Utica bar strip. Lol.
I know from experience oil, or too much oil really, will slow down a firing pin and cause light strikes. It seems crazy, but it does result in light strikes. Storing oiled guns muzzle up for long periods can allow the oil to seep into the firing pin hole.
I just recently started getting...
For the flutes to do anything close to listed advantages they have to be deep. Flutes on thinner contours and shallow are purely cosmetic. MTU profile with deep flutes is where they do something. That something is still debated if juice worth the squeeze.
My wife took all the wife’s tales out of cast iron for me. One can clean with dawn & water so long as one heats the pan to evaporate the water and then oil it up and let sit for next use.
Vermin reduced hogs for many years and I find eat the sows under 150lbs for store bought loin taste. I tried a couple big ones. It tasted ok, but tough and chewy and I went through a pack of toothpicks!
I don’t care if I ruin that radial brake! Lol
I do have a heat gun though. Will try that first.
I’ve cured the Savage cartridge jamming issue by beveling the ejector towards the firing pin hole about 20 degrees. Just marked on the ejector the side that faces the firing pin hole and flat filed...
I put a 30 min 100yd stalk on a sleeping boar. Got to 15yds and popped it. Its ears were stretched my direction. I just watched where I put my feet and put them down softly and avoided debris.
I think even with these ninja shoes shown here, a twig will still snap, leaves crackle, etc.
Was told this was a less/lesser nonsense forum board. So here I am. Into precision shooting & hunting. I part together all my own rigs and been hand loading a long time.
I’m about to attempt a radial brake removal. It’s a take off barrel and I have a barrel vise. Think I’ll blast the brake with a torch and try a punch or hammer on a punch to break the brake free. (See what I did there? 🤣)
