Great summary of Montana MD hunting. A rutted up dink MD couldn’t even survive 12 shots from an incompetent adult onset hunter and his zombie apocalypse rifle. Hard to watch, pretty bad display of sportsmanship and respect for the deer.
My trick for that is just invite one of my buddies over that has like 6 hunting trips planned for the year and ask him his plans for the fall while the wife is within earshot....A 6 pack and a couple hours is a lot cheaper than a shrink LOL.
My anecdotal observation is about a tag every 10-15 years...I have 4 good buddies I hunt with. We've pulled maybe 6 tags across 4 guys over 10 years of applying every year across a few states for a lot of tough tags.
The questionable math equations on the Montana MSG thread got me thinking, I'd be interested in knowing some real numbers. As Buzz likes to say, excel sheets lie...
POLL: How many OIL tags have you drawn in the last 10 years of applying.
Really simple rules:
1. I'd be nice if you have...
Trying to see if I understand the point your trying to make; as people apply and continue to apply year after year the total points cumulatively increases. If we look at total points from year 2000-now the denominator has increased significantly and exponentially at that, while the tags issued...
I’m getting my roof done and roofs get beat to hell in Montana so if I was going to do it, now makes the most sense. The only reason I’m not is I could see us moving before it pays itself off. Otherwise I’d probably do it and trade my run around car in for an electric and speed up the return...
Yeah, that’s equivalent to me telling a 70 year old they should have investing in bitcoin coin 15 years ago. I think it was smart you got in and stayed in just rather save my money and buy a sheep hunt in BC or Alaska then throw money at 0 tag applications. My dad drew Arizona unit 9 twice in...
I almost pulled the trigger on solar. Made a lot of sense. I’ve checked it out 4-5 times throughout the years. I think a lot of the price gougers went out of business when the tax credit went away and the tariffs went into effect. I think a lot of the low overhead, American sourced companies...
I’d imagine T levels reducing has higher correlation with drop out than prices going up 10%. My gosh, if it’s too much or you rather have a hunt you can plan out there’s plenty of guides that would gladly take your money for the “harvest” hunt your after. I don’t buy MSG out of state cause I...
