    Colorado Split Draw Starting 2028

I'm the hunter that accumulates a couple points and burns them. I will never have enough in any species to be worth anything. So I'm neutral about it I guess. What's kind of annoying is that since I'll probably be relying on the roll of the dice, my annual planning/certainty will go in the...

Would You Rather? Add your fun one!

Would you rather hunt with the winchester model 1873 on your rifle hunts (good to 50 yards) or take a rifle of your choice, but every shot you connect is going to be a gut shot. Fatal, but a gut shot everytime like clockwork.

Would You Rather? Add your fun one!

Well I'm going to add a condition on this one. If the groin kick doesn't actually damage my gear, then I'm choosing that. 3 days is not enough. Also I could skip my morning coffee. One kick will wake a man right up. If it's damage we're talking about then that's a hard no.

Would You Rather? Add your fun one!

Would you rather hunt with a rifle that randomly discharges once a year but shoots true besides that, or hunt with a rifle that shoots a massive cloud of glitter instead of a bullet 50% of the time?

    Sausage season

Last year I made a bunch of styles: -Wild rice sausage. Backwoods seasoning with a generous amount of cooked wild rice that's on the moist side. -Blackberry and cream cheese. Also used original backwoods mix but went easier than the recommended. This is novelty that I eat alone. It turned out...

Luddites with compound bows. Sometimes you need to make a concession. I'm in Golden, CO but likely going to find a permanent place near Fairplay

    Landscapes (pics)

Peak aspen at the end of archery in southern CO Saw a monster bull in this drainage in S. Utah. It's odd seeing Doug Fir and Ponderosa among the red rock. Frailesjones plants in the high country of Colombia. These things are apparently related to sunflowers

Montanans how long since your last mule deer

What the hell is going on up there? Is mainly a winter kill problem?

    Spotting Scope Recommendations

Just curious if anyone has used both average quality spotting scopes from 20 years ago vs modern spotters. I got a clean nikon sky and earth from a friend which went for 550 back in the day. I definitely appreciate it but not maybe its because it's the only one I've used. Is good glass always...

    Ditching GoHunt

I'm actually tempted to do the same. The only drawback is the amount of tracks, notes, and waypoints I've got on onx. The value in it is the documentation of the years of scouting I've done. Looks like i can export everything though luckily.
