Phone Skope
A better camera (more megapixels) won’t make up for the lesser quality image of a cheaper spotting scope. Better/clearer image =‘s better picture. Just my $.02 -

Anyone else using StaBall 6.5 in their .300 WSM?
I’m getting 2930 fps with SB6.5 at 2.895 COAL. It fits in a standard mag but I use a Mountain Tactical one and changed to a long action bolt stop. I can get out to 3.3” COAL but it shoots too good where it’s at to mess with it.- ropeup79

Quotas are set based on herd numbers and herd health not how many people want a tag. Issuing more tags in an already hurting mule deer herd is not a good strategy.- ropeup79

In WY landowner tags come out of the total available quota. Currently not all landowners who could get LO tags do. If they could sell them more would apply and that cuts into the numbers available to other residents. LO’s have every right to charge $ for access but guaranteed sellable tags is...- ropeup79

How it should be done? Yes. What most people do? No. Most people using adapters are buying pre threaded ones and hoping everything lines up. -

Yes, the added shoulder is locked with red loctite or rockset then the face is squared to the bore. With regular adapters you have at least 2 sets of threads (barrel to adapter and adapter to suppressor) that can have enough thread clearance when added together to cause issues. Even if I was... -

The main reason for not using adapters is the chance of tolerance stacking causing baffle strikes or other problems. It’s probably not that common but it does happen. -

Even when there is a marker, OnX could show you are off of it by several meters. Personally I will turn off tracking, take a picture of the marker, then turn the tracking back on. Heck, I might not even use the tracking if I find the marker, just a picture to show I found it. On an unmarked...- ropeup79

SILENCER/SUPPRESSOR?
There should be plenty of diameter to go 5/8x24 with a threaded collar added for a shoulder. Much better than an adapter and much less chance for tolerance stacking as can happen when using an adapter. Here is my Tikka 300 WSM at factory length and a video of the process. -

Question for the 30 cal guys
The 172 gr Speer Impacts could be a good combo. Should be able to get 2900-3000+fps. The 190 grainers shoot very well in my 300 WSM. -

Suppressor
No hands on experience and they look really nice but for Thunder Beast $$ I personally would have a hard time investing in an unknown brand. Their lightweight “hunting” can is not all that light. -

I think the most common recommendation is .1” barrel diameter over major thread diameter or .05” per side minimum. -

McMillan Mountain Tracker LR for Tikka
I haven’t held either of these but have seen some other Stocky’s stocks. They have been pretty nice especially for the price. The Peak 44 stocks look pretty good too. -

Their site makes it sound like it’s a lot of effort to make a Tikka version. I don’t have any skin in this game. I’m just letting people know that there is already a very similar option out there.
