Chamber Empty or Loaded
Just last seasone my buddy had one chambered, gun on safe. Threw the sling over his shoulder and BANG! it's one of those one in a million where his safety got bumped and trigger got caught on what must have been pack straps. After that, I hesitate to chamber until I'm really hunting.- ploxwithblox

How tight a group?
My take is don't go out with a setup you don't have confidence in. Logically, there is a point where it's "good enough" but I finally hit that spot with my weapon and ammo this year where I really felt confident with it (300 win mag. 200 gr eld/x, .6" @ 100 prone from a hunting pack). I probably should have said "service," tune was a poor choice of words. I would really like to be able to work on my own setup like you mentioned above without the lead time. That's a great point. I do broadhead tune and fiddle with my basic setup, I'm sure i could do more without getting a press. Maybe I'm just a little star struck when they can toss the bow in a press, drop in a new peep or string damper, or give a quick cable adjustment and be on their merry way...- ploxwithblox

8 years after back injury

Hornady ELX - No Good for Hunting Elk???
I shot my bull this year with 200 gr ELDX from my .300 win mag. He went down almost immediately. Clipped the front shoulder slightly but had no issues putting him down. New Rangefinder Sig Sauer, Leupold other?
I have a Leupold. I had to use my buddies sig to get a range on the bull I shot this year because mine couldn't get it done. I also missed out on a Muley buck because I couldn't get a range. I'll be looking at a sig as soon as I can manage.- ploxwithblox
