Honestly the title of this post alone makes me nervous. Obviously it happens to some misguided people who should not be in the woods at all much less with a weapon. My hope is no one on this site would come close to fitting in that category
I don't have any factual data to back this up but I do believe we will see some positive changes in the future for Wyoming for hunting. If the non-resident crowd falls off considerably the folks that watch "tourist dollar income" will look for a remedy to bring this revenue back up. How long...
Yea-I am really curious how the next couple of years will shake out. I plan on applying pretty much every year but I will re-access that decision about this time next year.
Today is the first day you can purchase preference point this year. I know a few folks have given up on pref points in Wy and I completely understand. I will likely buy some this year and try to use them next year and then who knows.

I'm sure it has been mentioned somewhere in this thread but I like C.J. Box's Books. I am about halfway through the Joe Pickett (main character) series of books by Box.
Given that your kids shoot a 308 and that ammo is available and relatively inexpensive-I'd stay the course and get another 308. Also inside of 300 yards it is quite potent on all the game you will likely pursue.
