I shoot a 7mag with 160gr NBT and a fast 7 twist .243 with 107 SMK’s. Ive killed a bunch of elk and a few deer with the 7 mag and I’ve killed a bunch of deer and a few elk with the fast twist .243 shooting the 107 SMK—it exits, does much less meat damage and penetrates much better than you would...- Horseman

Agreed!! It cannot be stressed enough how harmful the Citizens United decision has been to our democracy and country. House Insurance Canceled due to Wildfires Potential

Uh maybe because ICE are Federal gunmen that look and operate like neo nazis while occupying US cities where they are grossly unwelcome. What happened to state’s rights? Bad shot - good ending
Very cool antlers!! I think it’s funny how a lot of people claim that ‘the meat’s great’ after they leave a gut shot animal overnight LOL. Every animal that I’ve ever tried eating after it spent the night with the guts marinating inside has tasted just like it smelled…like poop, bad farts etc... -

It sounds like you moved the deer a little ways from where it died to where you gutted it. This and the additional time the deer carcass spent ungutted wouldve allowed gas to build up plenty of pressure inside its stomach rumen etc. Then you go around moving it, throwing it over your shoulders... -

It definitely wasn’t spoiled and did not become spoiled. Broadside heart shot, DRT, no entrails punctured. I had quarters back straps hung in the shade to cool overnight w/in a couple hours of killing it. Had quarters and back straps on ice by noon the next day thanks to my horses.
