Gunsmiths don’t use a torque wrench?!

LOL, dead wrong. You can absolutely pinch the tube on a scope, compressing the internals and reducing the scope's ability to return to zero/hold a group.

    Leupold warranty service time

You shipped it USPS? Ouch. I'd look into the number of days you have to report.

    upgrading my binos

Nope, people keep them forever. Only reason I'm even considering selling these ELs is because I want to buy a set of NLs and the new EL Range and the wife would murder me otherwise.

    Swaro Z5 users, your thoughts?

Where'd that come from? Swaro still repairs stuff from the 1990s: https://repairservice.swarovskioptik.us/docs/default-source/default-document-library/sonawarranty.pdf?Status=Temp&sfvrsn=2 Looks like the warranty on accessories and electronics is 2-years, but glass is "limited lifetime"

    Mark 5, Klassik, Z6

The Z6 2.5-15x44 is offered in BRH (4.5 mils in the reticle), BT-Plex (4.6 mils in the turret, no marks for wind), and the BRH-i and BT-4Ai which are basically the same with an illuminated dot. If "long distance" to you is ~700 yds, the scope will do fine for elevation, but only the BRH is...

    Purpose of Long Range Finders?

First, a more powerful laser gives you more reliable readings under worse conditions. Heavy snow on the ground with bright sunlight creates light pollution which will affect returns. Snow/fog/rain can also hamper a reliable read at longer distance. Beyond that, you're clearly only thinking of...
