At least JJ didn't seem a pompous asshole and acknowledges that without that whole crew of people there's no chance on earth he ever shoots that bull.
I commend the guy who was narrating the video, or setup the situation in the first part. That's a tough thing to come to terms with. Knowing...
My first deer ever was a whitetail doe, November 2nd, 2019 at about 11:00AM. It's the only deer I've killed to date, hit it at about 70 yards with a Bergara B14 Hunter in 270WIN topped with a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40. It was the second doe to come across a shooting lane I had. I've learned a lot...
Leica would be a solid way to spend your money. Sig Kilo also gets real strong reviews. Above posting about 2 failing within a 2 year time frame makes me nervous. He's the first guy I've seen say they had issues with Sig RF. Maven just came out with their first rangefinder touting 4500 yard...
I prefer Manners to McMillan but the cost and lead time on both are kinda nuts. Stocky's just released their VG2 stock which I have on order, you're talking about $500+ for just the stock and some basic BDL bottom metal. The Manners is likely going to be over a grand, for just the stock.
This...
3 years ago I would have said 300 Win Mag. Today? 300 PRC. It's a "new and improved" 300 WM. I was also after a bigger, longer, more ballistically efficient, hard hitting caliber and ended up deciding on 300 PRC. Its a real pain to find ammo for it right now but it's out there and seems to...
I've got two Bergara rifles. A B14 Hunter in .270WIN and a B14 Wilderness Ridge in 7mm Rem Mag. My advice is get the wilderness series of whichever model you're considering if you can swing just a little more money. It comes cerakoted which is awesome if you spend much time in the field in...
That was an awesome recount of the experience. Was a great read, thank you for telling the story adn congratulations on your once in a lifetime harvest.
I have a Winchester SXP pump gun and a Beretta A400 gas semiauto. In the past I've owned an 870 and a Winchester 1200. I really like Winny pump scatterguns. They fit me well and the actions are smooth. I was amazed at how nice the trigger was in my SXP the first outing. Usually shotguns...
Awesome! I was in WY last week trying to get a Mule Deer in Unit 35 and was skunked. It was windy as all get out and then snowed on opening morning which we think pushed all the deer we were spotting days earlier to lower elevations. Which unit did you tag that guy in?
I'd take a hard look at Bergara's rifles too. The B14 Wilderness Hunter seems like it would fit your needs very well though they don't offer it in .270WIN. They do offer it in 7mm Rem mag and that is basically a hopped up .270, there is also an option of a 28 Nosler as well.
