2019 Utah Henry Mountain Bison Hunt

I see you were successful on your Henry’s bison a couple years ago. My wife has a January tag this year. Any tips/tricks/pointers you can offer would be much appreciated.

New Mexico Unit 45 Muley Hunt

Put in 10.5 miles and 3100' of vert. Saw fresh sign everywhere and quite a few younger bucks or does with fawns. Most of the animals were around 9500' +/-, and activity had all but stopped by 8am. That being said, since I was headed to a completely new spot I didn't get on the trail until just...

First out of state hunt: Utah’s west desert, west

Water will be king. It’s been extremely dry in UT (like much of the west...) this year. Streams that haven’t dried up in 20 years are bone dry.

Do you need an super duper magnum for elk?

No. Medium duper, normal duper and any well placed shot with a 100gr or larger bullet traveling at an adequate rate of speed will do it. Eg people killing bull elk with 100gr archery broadheads.

    New Truck........

I picked up a ‘19 new off the lot a few months ago. I don’t pull regularly enough to go with the diesel, so I went gas. No regrets, zero issues 10k miles in.

Poaching wolves. That’s an oxymoron in my book.

    Seeking fellow western hunting partner

Wow, that's some stout mileage. Especially if it's vert at altitude. Cool.

New Mexico Unit 45 - First trip

I'm in the same boat as yourself and look to be on this hunt solo. I've searched the forums on here and have PM'd a handful of members here who have provided some great tips. I'm in ABQ so I'll definitely be able to get some scouting trips in closer to season.

I’d say that historically, cards are usually hit about 1 week to 10 days before the “official results” are out.
