What ammo do you find shoots best with this rifle? My dad picked up the same gun last year and he has struggled finding hunting ammo that shoots well out of it. The best so far has been Hornady Precision Hunter 150 grain ELD-X.
I thought it was named after Creedmoor Rifle Range in New York where a lot of the PRS stuff takes place. I realize this doesn't answer of what makes it a "Creedmoor" but I was told that's where Hornady came up with the name.
Does anybody know if you can just buy a Point at this time for a youth? I signed my 12 year old up for the $5 license with the intention of starting to build points and I can't figure out how to buy the point online. I was on hold for about an hour on the phone and finally hung up. Thanks in...
I used OnX all fall for hunting in both Minnesota and Montana and I can't recall my phone freezing up one time. I have a Samsung S9 plus and it has worked great. I hunted a lot this fall and OnX worked great. It is interesting that some people had all kinds of issues and others didn't have any.
I had a chance to go out and shoot the 7mm08 Encore today. I didn't have a lot of time or ammo but after a couple shots to get it close I shot a 3 shot group with Hornady American White tail 139 grain interlocks at 100 yards. The group was about 2 inches or so. I adjusted my scope after the...
I picked up a used 7mm-08 Encore barrel at my local gun shop today. I've always wanted a 7-08 and the price was too good to pass up. I have the Encore in 50 Cal. muzzleloader so this is the first additional barrel I've purchased. It is a 24" blued barrel and I mounted a Burris 3x9 scope on...
A few years back my dad and went out pheasant hunting on a Friday afternoon and ended up shooting a limit of pheasants. At the time I had a Toyota Sequoia and I threw both of our vests with the birds still in the game bag in the back of it. When we got back to my house my dad left with his...
Did you get the Weatherby Backcountry or Highcountry? I thought the Backcountry was a Mark V and has a carbon stock and the msrp is over $2k. Reason I ask is I am considering a high country right now and the msrp is $949 and they are typically priced less than that.
I remember hearing years ago that it is better to have LASIK when you are younger. I'm about to turn 43 and wear contacts/glasses but just need a slight correction. How long would the LASIK last at my age? Is it about 10 years and you have to go get touched up again?
