Wyoming Long Range Turkey with Centerfire Rifle?

In the Spring? I agree with most of the sentiment here. Biggest concern is all the other hunters in camo who are trying to get close. Too much risk. And then there's the sporting side of it. The fun of turkey hunting is getting close and calling. Now, I have shot a turkey with a .223 while...

The January Topic: KUIU vs Sitka!

I haven't owned any Sitka gear. I have bought some kuiu in thge past and its been pretty good. My closet seems to be filled primarily with Kryptek and Kings stuff right now. I've worn Kryptek for several years and outside of a pair of gloves, it's held up well. I've also been pretty impressed...

    Elk Hunting Knives........

I have 2 different Morakniv knives. They are serious value. I have a couple much higher dollar knives that dull way faster and weigh more. My Morakniv does more work for me on breaking down an animal than any other these days.

Old 8 with 41 magnum revolver

I used to live in the Buda/Kyle area. I was born and raised in central TX and lived there for 36 years. Live out in Utah now. My wife's family still has land back in Central TX. North of where you are a bit. They are up near Coleman - south of Abilene.

What elk? a smoke pole decision

I voted spike only because you know its age and it will be ridiculous eating. However, in reality, if it were me, I'm taking the first presented shot.

State Land in Jackson, WY headed for auction

Like I said, I have no idea about any of the intricacies of these types of things. All I was saying is that it's where my mind went. We all know that governments, boards, legislatures, etc. very rarely ever can or will do what seems to make the most sense. It seems from what you said that...

State Land in Jackson, WY headed for auction

I don't know all of the intricacies of this type of stuff, but this is exactly where my mind went as well. I have no idea what kind of power a land board has in terms of being able to purchase, but it seems to me that getting $80 mil for 640 acres could be used to purchase a ton of land...

Looks great! Little full… Lotta sap…

My wife's family used to do the exact same thing just north of the hill country. Kind of funny. None of them realized at the time that they had terrible allergies to the juniper!

    2023 UT Muzzleloader Buck

It was a good buck, especially for a general season tag. I've always thought hunting those dark timber deer out there would be awesome.
