Do not give up on an elk hunt! Started 5 yrs ago now going on 62. Best hunt of your lifetime and can not wait to see draw results each year. If you are physically able, start applying for non resident tags and plan your own hunt. I used outfitter hunt in Montana for one hunt and did DIY...- Sdhunters

Three years after my purchase I had an issue with my Mt Extreme having the rubber seal pull loose from the upper in a couple places. Kodiak tent, is it worth it?
Do the same as Birdwatcher, 20 degrees no problem with buddy jr heater. 20lb tank is way to go. 1lb tanks last about 6 hours. Great alarm clock when propane runs out.- Sdhunters

Workouts! What are we doing to prepare?
Get cardio up and a short rest is all that is needed for a quick recovery. Hauled out bull over 2.5 to 3 miles in 3 trips about 17 miles total and took a series of short hauls followed by a short rest and it was not as bad as I had imagined.- Sdhunters

Preferred .300 Mag Elk Loads You Use?
Hornady ELD X 200gr. is great load if your gun likes it. Shot a partition in a .270 before going to 300WM. -

From So Dak and would be interested but need to wait until June resident elk draw to decide is Colorado is possible. Do you have unit in mind? Are you drawing muzzy without any points? I would have to draw on 0 pts.- Sdhunters
