It's getting to be that time of year again. Made some big changes for this year. I bought a new boat in December.
I have been spending time the past few months wiring electronics. Finally got around to wrapping everything up today except for installing the livescope pole.
I wanted a fishing...
Disclaimer: There will be a severe lack of pictures. I have one picture of a small rainbow I caught on the first cast on my Google backup but then proceeded to donate my phone to the fish gods scrambling to get a picture of Warren's little brown he pulled out of the same hole immediately after...
The river has been picking up steam the past week or so. Second trip, second limit. On the water at 6, off at 10.
Haven't found the fat catch and release females yet, but it's hard to complain about a fish box full of 18" eaters.
Lots of freighter traffic today, and caught 3/4's of our fish...
Initial Report:

It feels like my 4 year old's preschool will inevitably be cancelled in the coming weeks. I figured I'd grab some traps to keep us busy through the winter now that deer season is winding down. He goes to a nature/outside orientated preschool and is not going to take to being cooped up all winter...
Two days in a row, 3 man limit and off the water in less than an hour and a half. Everything has been 20"+.
1/2 oz orange head, brown worm with neon tail tipped with a minnow. Pimp daddy colors have been good too.
Got notification my card was compromised at the end of the week, got the new card on Saturday. It's the card on file with my dad's and my Colorado applications. Do I have to get the information updated before it hits in the next week or so, or can I wait until after the draw to pay? I think I...
Turkey scouting turned shed hunt. Birds had moved out of the woods across a road to a alfalfa field so I scoured a couple bedding areas. Most I've ever found by far in a single day. Had one trailcam pic of the big guy late October but that was it.
My dad and I are headed to Colorado first rifle granted that we draw. He's been out before but this is my first trip. He's our acclimatization strategy, suggestions welcome.
For information, he'll be 60 and will be in as good as shape as a retired 60 year old will be. He was hiking 6-8 miles a...
My dad and I hunted unit 7 in Wyoming this year. It was the first time either of us had hunted antelope and my first trip out west. He's been on a handful of trips and has killed elk, moose and caribou. We went into this planning to fill our tags at the first available opportunity. I did a ton...
We let our son choose his bedtime book and for the past few weeks now it's been A Sand County Almanac. Well we are just about through it. I've got the and sketches here and there version and it's amazing seeing him light up as we stumble across the sketches, and flip back to ones we've already...
I've lurked for a long time with nothing much to add, finally headed out west this year with my dad.
Grew up hunting rabbits and whitetail on the family farm in Michigan. Moved to Florida for five years for college and was fortunate enough to get some hunting in down there as well and a ton of...
