Butcher paper??
Sounds like you got coated paper. Do not use it for smoking. For smoking you must have uncoated paper. A paper grocery bag has worked for me in the past. Nothing wrong with foil either- 65swede

Might be a little early for migrating deer. But If it were me and I wanted to gameplan for a migration hunt; I'd look at the cdow hunt atlas and find the migration route data for the deer heading down toward New Mexico. Then I'd plot those routes in Earth and use them to determine the land... -

NM Unit 34 Late Season
Don't get discouraged. Stay mobile and adaptable. Still hunting and glassing into canyons is a good tactic that time of the year. Do not be afraid to hang a treestand or sit in a blind if you find water that has bull sign. Just be prepared for weather, have maps (I like Game Planner Maps)... -

Lake Powell
Should be a good year for stripers. The chains is a good spot to fish without traffic. Small mouth abound on points and structured shorelines. If the stripers are boiling...fish the boils.- 65swede

We have one and it works if you need to cook something fast. However they will not develope the same depth of flavor when preparing a braise.
