Shiras Moose Hunt - A lot of firsts...
Man what an incredible experience and a beautiful animal. Currently sitting through my last day of work before flying out for elk near there this weekend, and reading up on adventures like this has the stoke level through the roof. Congrats on an awesome harvest and lifetime memory.- oxn939

Nevada Antelope hunt 2025 - Semi-live
Beautiful buck, congrats. Only similarity between this and the tag I hunted near there in '22 is the scenery where yall killed yours. We saw 3 legal bucks in 5 days of scouting and hunting, and killed the largest. Evidently we were on the tail end of a pretty severe drought, but man the game... -

Late to the thread here, but I have a 1500 Alpine in .243 that is a "chopstick-" 6 pounds ish scoped and loaded with the Bansner stock. It's a fantastic rifle, but definitely not the easiest to shoot well at really long distances- which doesn't really matter for me since I never shoot past 300... -

Interesting numbers here... it appears two thirds of dudes have killed bucks between 140 and 200. For comparison, this buck was under 140 -

Fierce or Christensen Arms?

Lever Guns, what would you choose & why?
Depending on how weird you have to get to access a spot... a short, handy lever can be much more useful than kestrels, laser range finders and ultra mags I also purchased that rifle for less than some bar tabs I've run up in my day, which makes every tiem you seal the deal with it that much... -

Low mag, High Quality
Tough as a nonresident. I have a 96 hour window to kill an elk this year, a thousand miles from home. If I strike out on that, I'm hosed until '26 unless I can sneak out over Thanksgiving or Christmas to fight it out for a Whitetail on public. I'm a big "short range hunting" guy, but leaving 70%... -

Is there some kind of benefit to a 30mm 1-4 I'm missing? It's heavier and has a lower mag range than the 1" 3-9, less capable in every way. Good news is, ran a range with my Leupold this morning and all was well. Do suppose she'll stick around -
