Funny I've only fished in Alaska when I was caribou hunting and caught a few graylings. This is only 4 hours from my house. After my last weekend my buddy might want to be replaced. 😂
My second steelhead trip of the year was even better than the first. I hooked 22 and landed 20. On Saturday I landed 14 in 5 hours. The last pic shows how my buddy felt about that when he only got 2. lol
I really don't. I could just send you an assortment of what usually works for me or if you wanted to let me know what you would want, I could make those. $2 each 1/8 oz tied on Mustad 2x 1/0 hooks.
Busted! lol This was one day and a morning. Hooked 10 and landed 8 Saturday and hooked 2 and landed 2 Sunday. Saturday was sunny and 60 degrees, Sunday was 40 and a downpour.
They aren't cheap. $2 each but they seem to work the best. Sometimes I can get a full hunt out of them and sometimes not. It just depends on how rocky it is. I'll spend the extra money to make sure his feet are good to go.
It's both. I wrap his leg with vet wrap. Over that I have been using dog booties. They are made in Alaksa from 1000 denier Cordura. They are a live saver for his feet. I just use the vet wrap because he has fine hair. My buddy doesn't do it with his poodle pointer and he does just fine...
Ended the last day of the season on a great note. Lots of points and some decent shooting. Crazy hunting January 31st hunting mostly in a t-shirt and 50 degrees.
