Ended up with a last minute November hunt and finally going to get a hot tent. Seek Outside's lead times are too long so I need to find one second hand in good condition. Prefer the sxl stove but large is fine too.
Half liner would be nice. Basically everything that comes in the combo.

I have a feature on my Garmin Fenix 5 that let's me find my phone via bluetooth if I've lost it. The feature is garbage, and I doubt that anything they've crammed into a nock is going to work much better. By the time a BT signal is going to give you a good indication, you will be well within...
That is a bummer. Just want to say, I am strongly right handed, I can't do anything with my left hand. Can't write, can't shoot, can barely eat. It took me years to even keep from switching the fork into my right hand when eating dinner haha. And when I started shooting earlier this year, I...
Thanks for all the advice guys! I think I need to round out my plans for the year, I have a few ideas, but I need to be having backups for my backups. Unfortunately I blew my scouting trip already and didn't find too many good glassing spots. That is why I wasn't too hot on glassing but I do...
I agree, awesome post Alpine.
Are you saying that I should sit further away from the meadow on account of the elk not wanting to be in the sun, or me? I'm from Florida so the heat doesn't bother me a bit, but I'm sure the elk are very picky about that sort of thing. Perhaps I can start on the...
Strength training under the guidance of a competent trainer is the solution here. I could not agree more with what BowHuntPhysio said as well about cutting to the chase. MDs are for sick people, and you're not sick, just undertrained and/or not moving right.
I tried to avoid posting this thread for as long as possible, but now I'm getting desperate for any leg up I can get. ;) This is my first elk hunt, and my first archery hunt. I went out to the unit over the weekend to scout and took a look at all of the spots I'd picked for my e-scouting...
Merino is only good as baselayers. I have had great luck with smartwool, my tshirts have lasted years. I am really slim, so FL stuff doesn't fit me well at all. I had a chama too and it got really stretched out of shape after a season. Not a fan. Merino base, synthetic mid, down outer layers for me.
I think Skurka has THE best rubric for 3 season backpacking layering system, which I think translates to hunting pretty much perfectly. It gives examples of every piece, and describes their function within the system, without specifically recommending particular brands or models...
The site is poorly designed and confusing to navigate, and is broken for me on mobile, but the content itself is pretty good. There are a lot of videos, but there's even more text, so don't get into the mindset that you're going to kick back and turn on the tube and Corey is going to talk you...
Surprised at all the folks recommending high arch support insoles and taking shots. That isn't going to address the root cause of your issues, and a high arch support is just as likely to cause more issues than solve them. I would not take this problem to a regular physician. You need to see the...
