We are looking at purchasing a property in NM that should qualify for elk tags (SW region). We have reached out to NMDGF to ask this question but figured I would pose it here in case HT knows. If we go the Unit Wide tag route and thus have to open our land to the public, does the state offer...- huntertx

Co 82 Dead Head
I found this dead head in Colorado unit 82 during first rifle. Looks like it was killed in muzzleloader or archery. If you can tell me the general area I was in, I will send you an ONX waypoint. Left side is a 6. Right side is busted. -

Mid-day water hole setup: Colorado
Good point on the cows. I think this area Should hold cows during because it has the past 2 1st Rifle Seasons. That being said, I guess I won’t know for sure until I get there. Most of the water is low in this area. Im not aware of other water holes up high. There has to be but I have not found... -

I’m hunting Labor Day weekend and have mapped a high country water hole in an area that holds elk. My question is, do bulls (in the early season) need to water every day? For context, I’ll be hunting southern Colorado. -

Unit 8 Arizona
drew this unit for late rifle. Going to scout last week of august…more to get acquainted with the area/confirm glassing spots than to look for elk. -

AZ Scouting Trip
Good info. I’m not a veteran but one member of my party is. we’ll have UTV’s as well. Good to know the roads can be swampy. We’ll plan to rely on the UTV. Any word on the Rafael fire? Looks like it burned 80k acres, with a lot of it being in Sycamore canyon. -
