Proposed Big Game Season Structure (BGSS) 2025-2029 - Colorado
I have a feeling they total deer tag numbers wont change in a single unit. For example, they may give out 100 tags total. They give 50 2nd season, 30 3rd season and 20 4th season. I imagine they will just redistribute some quantity to 1st while maintaining the same total in the unit.- oswald2581

Public Comments on Ambler Road
My understanding, and please correct me if I am off, but the Ambler mine has been there since the 50's and "the development of the mineral resources has been limited due to a lack of transportation infrastructure" I agree, that regardless of how anyone feels about the mine, nothing can be done...- oswald2581

A few really good reissue Elk Muzzleloader tags on the reissue list, half way through the season.... 201 and it took 25 pts to draw, was offered to next in line, but probably couldn't take that tag on a few days notice. Now here we sit 4 days into the season, someone can get online tomorrow but...- oswald2581

Colorado Unit 18 Conditions following fire in 2020
I have spent some time in the area, I was really surprised how green most of it was but A LOT was weeds and not quality feed for elk. So that's another thing to keep in mind.- oswald2581

What is in your truck kit?
I carry a good first aid kit, tire plug kit, small 12V compressor, pressure gauge, tow strap, shackles, tire chains and if I am on some good backcountry dirt roads maybe a 6 pack in a cooler in the backseat.....- oswald2581

Talley One Piece Aluminum Rings/Bases
I run them on my X-bolt and have had zero issues. I gave them a try because i was interested in the one piece design and all the reviews I read were positive. I have a hells canyon and could match the cerakote color also.- oswald2581

Ice fishing in colorado
As everyone has said, been a very warm fall and hard to say when even the mountains will have good ice. Check out the South Park area, Antero, Terryall and 11 mile are all good lakes, and roughly a 2 hour drive in good weather from Littleton. Last year I had a 3rd season Unit 18, 28, 37, 371 deer tag. CPW gave the option to turn it in due to the East Troublesome Fire, I did not because the area we typically hunt in 37 was not affected. I tried to get my nephew just a doe tag and called CPW and they were not allowing any of the tags...- oswald2581

Bow hunter fatally shot in San Juan National Forest
It is very unfortunate that someone lost their life to someone blindly seeing "something" and shooting. Most units in Colorado, including the unit the incident happened in have antler restrictions for bulls. Baffles me how anyone blindly shoots at something not knowing what the target really...- oswald2581
