Ok everyone, sorry about the delay. Just got back from an elk hunt and finally snapped those pics. It held up great and I am impressed with the additional noise dampning at the shot. It isn't perfect to need to add this on an expensive quiver, but adding this no longer has me looking for a...
Thanks for the insight, but now it is $175.02 and that is out of my budget...
For those that asked for a pic, hoping I can tonight. Just got back from a marathon scouting trip but suffice it to say that while I would prefer a 2 piece quiver, this bow doesn't have mounting holes and with the...
I can just tap my quiver and hear the hypo's rattle, and have had to replace collars a few times as well when getting them tighter. This solves it but good to hear you are having luck without the need.
I used a bivy and tarp for years but have since gone to a Big Agnes UL2 Fly Creek, it is about 2lbs so lighter than my OR advanced bivy + tarp, and more roomy/ comfy.
I also went to a Sierra Designs quilt instead of a regular bag and that cut a bit of weight too. For glassing intense hunts, I...
I added a secondary gripper to my tight spot and it really makes a difference to holding the arrows tight, and limiting noise. No idea why it isn't stock equipment on a $150 quiver, but anyway... https://www.tightspotquiver.com/store
I keep a mechanical in my quiver in case I feel the need to...
Definitely test them out. A back sleeper will love something someone else won't, and those that have issues with noise will need something else completely. I have been impressed with both Thermarest and Klymit over the years as well as Big Agnes, so find something that fits the design, weight...
There is a joint that is easy to cut with any blade at the base of the neck, I take my necks out whole in CA for roasts in the dutch oven or slow cooker. I have found that as rigor sets in, when you flex the neck there is a distinct area that continues to move more than the rest of the neck...
Anyone got any input on calling this late (mid-late NOV)? I have it on good authority that the bulls are still vocal but am not sure what to plan for with regards to calling.
I am getting my boots out there in 3 weeks or so, but figure if anyone has experience with late bugling bulls and how...
I have an OR advanced bivy I need to sell, it is too big for my frame, but it works great for that purpose. I also have a cheaper one that I often use when I am truck hunting and just toss a cot next to the truck to keep condensation off my bag, it is kryptek but it is nice.
The ti goat ones...
If you are starting from scratch it seems to take more work to get Muzzy's to fly with fieldpoints than does slick tricks, but if you are set, you are set. Both make super sharp blades and have both killed everything that went into the boiler room.
Good luck
Awesome flying head for sure! I carry those and also a rage Hypodermic in case a situation arises that I want to use a mechanical. The Tooth of the Arrow heads are super durable, dang near indestructible.
Buy once, cry once. That isn't just about the bow and major accessories either, that goes for arrows and cases and practice quiver and the whole lot.
I went back to a compound recently and bought 3doz arrows so I don't have to even consider that for 5 years or so. I have been in a crappy...
Whatchamacallit, 1 per day!
Otherwise my favorite snack is homemade gorp, I hate chocolate so I do almonds, cashews, and reese's pieces. Can't beat the fuel or flavor! And a little whiskey for either getting to sleep when too amped to do so, or to celebrate a successful kill the night before...
