We used to fish the east end on the american side every year around July 4. We’d portage over from Namakan at Kettle Falls and camp. Most walleyes were in the slot, plus big smallmouth every trip but we’d always have enough walleye to eat.

I don’t know about western birds but from experience the best way to learn turkey hunting is by turkey hunting. The difference between a turkey and elk is if you spook a turkey it won’t be 7 drainages away in 30 minutes.
