‘25-‘26 Upland Bird Thread
That sucks. Sorry to hear that. I've been there. My dog got cut up one year and tore her side up bad and needed 14 stitches. The dog protector vests don't cover everything unfortunately. Wishing your dog a speedy recovery.- Walkathon

Ran its course, now in the weeds.
Good thread with some different perspectives. I went with the low stress, payoff the house route. I would have done better financially if I'd have invested the money in a S&P500 fund, but I'm ok with not getting the extra gains. No kids, and two incomes (DINK) and we've been maxing out 401K's...- Walkathon

@Hammsolo :ROFLMAO: My wife and I also saw Stephen Wilson Jr. this year. Never heard of him, and about 2 songs into his set, I was like, who the hell is this guy?, and who is playing the guitar? It was him, obviously. And agreed- he was freaking awesome. Best performer I've seen in 30 years.- Walkathon

.270 or 30-06?

7 rem mag and 139 grain hornady
I use the Hornady Interlock (140 gr.) in my .270 Win. It shoots great and holds together well for a non-bonded bullet. I've shot several Whitetail and Mule deer with it. I wouldn't be afraid to shoot an Interlock out of a 7MM Rem mag.- Walkathon

Hunting Solo by choice or circumstance
I enjoy hunting by myself. I hunt with friends sometimes as well, but when I hunt alone, I can show up when I want, hunt until I feel like leaving and don't have to work around anyone's schedule but my own.- Walkathon

Antelope and Rattlesnakes
I almost put my hand on a lethargic one in MT while trying to crawl under a pine tree to look into a basin. Bout crapped myself. I've seen 3 or 4 in WY when it's hot out during antelope season. My hearing is really bad, so I'm always nervous that I won't hear one when it rattles.
