    Eastward MT Griz

Just read of a rumor that there may be a Griz on the East side of MT's HD410 on the Mussleshell river. Be curious if this is fact or fiction. If so, they are moving East faster than I expected. I assumed maybe in the next 2 or 3 years before we heard of one in that area.

    What to do

So the time has come for me to rethink my hunting. I knew my wife never cared for me doing it but I told her if I was forced to quit, I would be gone quicker than she could blink. And that was that. Fast forward 8 or so years. We have two awesome kids. They are my everything and I would do...

Say goodbye to another Montana BMA

Sad to see this one go. I've already made my own assumptions. And will eat my words if I am wrong. This was where I had take my largest mule deer. Quality of the Mule Deer and even Whitetail if you knew where to look was pretty good years ago when I last accessed it. :(...

Interesting read on our favorite billionaires.

Thoughts on EXO Mountain Gear pack

I like the price point, weight, and other features that I see on the pack. Curious of what people who have used them think. Id love a Kirafu or Stone Glacier but they are either way to expensive for what I want in a pack or not enough features in the few I have in my price range it seems. I...

    Montana Hunt Roster

Anyone know how these Hunt Roster hunts work after your status is accepted? I know they are sending out a letter and I assume ill be getting a call later but I have never made it past the part where I look every so often and never move until today. Today it looks like my elk season is starting...

    First time for everything

Took my first animal with a bow this morning. Just happened to be this Black Bear Boar. Elk hunting trips and change on a dime. Listened to bugles last night and never even got a chance to call them before finding this guy. Spent less than an hour hunting this weekend.

    Rangefinder gift ideas

So many brands of rangefinders. What offers the best bang for the buck? My dad wants one for his birthday. Leica (and similar quality) would be nice but not everyone can invest that much in one piece of gear. What say you? I have a nikon riflehunter 550 that works good. Is there something...

    Taylor Fork, MT

So I have not been around the Taylor Fork in years. Never actually even seen elk in it to be honest. I drew the unlimited tag this year and want to keep it on my radar although I cant say I plan to be hunting that direction this year. But Its still possible. Anyone got any input on the area...

    Archery tech work

Anyone know if there is a way you can learn to work on bows without needing to have a job at a shop? I enjoy working on bows. I am tired of shotty work as I have one shop within a about 2 hours aside from Cabelas and a couple other retailers. Eventually I want to maybe start a small shop or...

Bull elk bedroom from year to year

If you found a bulls bedroom on accident one year, with lots of beds, tons of rubs, all in about 500 yards along a bench, would it be a safe bet that you could find him there the next year if he made it through the year? I want to position myself so I catch him moving from point A to point B...

    Montana good ol days.

Here is a photo that was ran in the Billings Gazette I want to say in 1967 or 1968 from a hunt my grandfather, grandmother, 2 uncles, and a friend of theirs had in Gardiner. We still have the big guys antlers hanging in my parents garage.
