Federal Trophy Bonded vs Federal Barnes TSX
I'm down to these two 180gr loads for my 30-06. I've watched the Federal video and my gunsmith, who's an experienced big game hunter recommended the TBT, but at the range today those Barnes shoot so well...I can't shoot much better than this...- ridge63

3-9 or 4-12/4.5-14 for Elk in Southwestern MT?
Hopefully to just 300 yards. I'll practice out to 350-400, but I'll be shooting a 30-06, so out to 400 is a stretch. Thanks. -

Looking for a Leupold scope either a 3-9 or a 4-12 Rifleman scope. Any clear advantages of the 4-12 over the 3-9 for elk hunting in SW Montana. -

Drop camp vs DIY
They're are no success rates, it's all on you. They provide the horses, tent, the ride back in, but the hunting is on you. I'm looking at an area near Durango in the Weminuche Wilderness. The cost is about $2100 for the last week of archery, I'm by myself so I don't have a bigger party - some... -

Drop camp vs DIY
I've been in contact with an outfitter in regards to a drop camp. But then I look at the cost and wonder if just packing in myself and if the money is worth it. I guess what I'm trying to decide if is other guys can do it, so can I as far as DIY. Or would I just pay for a horse ride and bigger... -

Advice for GMU 78 CO bowhunt.
Looking at GMU 78 for a bowhunt from Sept 13-26 and seeking advice on some areas. Right now I'm focused on the Opal Lake, Chalk Mtns, Fish Creek - Harris and Buckles Lakes south to Price Lakes Road. Any one familiar with the area? I looking at other GMUs but like the area. Am I wasting time... -
