    Colorado unit 444

I got a buck tag in 444, 2nd season and was just wanting some in sight on the unit from people who have been there. I have never hunted Colorado or in mountains so one question is should I concentrate on lower elevation areas maybe in the west side. More private over there, a little blm. Or are...

    bipod for elk hunt?

do most you use a bipod on your rifles for elk hunting? I use a 13"-23" for antelope hunting in Wyoming but I think that may be taller than needed in mountains. I can't shoot prone with that one, I've been practicing more in prone position so I was thinking maybe put a shorter one on from...

    Gaiters

Planning on 2nd season elk in Colorado. Is there typically snow that time of year? And would gaiters be something you would bring? The unit we are thinking about has elevation of around 8,500 to almost 12,000 feet. Probably be hunting mostly 9,000-10,000.

Great Wyoming hunt. Stalked up a drainage and got within 100 yards of this lope. 2 doe were bedded in front of him, thought they would spook but they stayed put.

What's the story with area 79 ? I've noticed there are still left over tags and seems to be good public access. Also earlier on some of the surrounding areas had tags also. Are deer densities that low? Steep terrain? Just looking into future hunt areas.

    N.M. Barbary Sheep

I've been doing some research for a future barbary sheep hunt in New Mexico. Just wondering if any one has done it. Would a privtate ranch be best or are they plenty on public ground. Any help would be appreciated.

    Great first Wyoming hunt

First time hunting out west and had a great time. The drive from Florida was worth it. I got in a a hurry and shot my antelope the first 45 minutes of opening morning so he wasn't as big as several we saw the day before. He was with another buck and doe and I think he was smaller. My buddy...

    Is a spotting scope needed?

Going on my first antelope hunt and wondering if I really have to get a spotting scope. Just want some input from the experts, don't want to get there and wish I'd brought one. Thanks
