    MT Wolf Population

I think ALL of us in MT need to start planning out our wolf hunt for this fall now. Start researching calls, decoys etc... Wolf hunting isn't a walk in the park in my opinion, I think you'll find it's quit a challenge. Just like us from the western park of the state travel east to hunt turkeys...

    Wolf roaming around Kalispell, Mt

When wildlife ends up wondering around in developed areas in the case of predators it's usually an indication there are to many for the surrounding habitat or their food source has been depleted.

    Antler Drop Question

Ok, in over 27 years of horn hunting in the mid west, (mainly MN) Canada, Alaska and for the last 16 of those 27 here in MT, this is what I've learned: Whitetail: Shedding will vary through out a herd and under certain situations may vary from year to year. Stress will expedite shedding, like...

    Sheep pict thread

Here's a ram that was dropped on my shop floor to be skinned and prepped for mounting. A friend of mine Gary shot this ram in the Elk Horn Mountains near Townsend MT in '04 after looking over quite a few rams. Go figure the day I don't go out with him he takes a ram.

This is a ram a friend of mine Tim took up by Augusta MT in '06!

    Sheep pict thread

Wow, what an incredible pile of sheep photos!! This is a nice ram my Brother took in '80 in the McKenzie Mountains in NWT. This was the start of "sheep fever" for me! I think I think he paid a whopping $1,200 for the hunt.

Let's see your Dads old hunting photos

Let's see the old hunting photos (they don't have to be of deer) of your Dad or your Grandpa, which ever one it was that cemented the hunting heritage passion in you. I grew up in MN watching my Dad and Brothers bring home deer they'd taken in the northern part of the state. When it was time...

    Alaska moose - OYOA style

I don't know how you could fit all the information into one episode, would you're format two segments? I guess it just depends on how detailed you want to get about research, air taxi, location etc... As you know a fly in hunt in AK is a step up from packing in for elk or mule deer, one needs...

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. I think about my Dad every day as I'm sure you will of yours. It sounds like your Dad left a heck of a legacy!

    MULEY Obsession

When I start up the mountain at daybreak and walk over a fresh set of bulls tracks to get into a basin where I might get a glimpse of a good buck, I guess that puts me in a class of a Mule Deer Freak!

    Utah desert ram

    Nice! I want one!

    Sheep mount

I used to live in Eagle River, who are you going to take your sheep to?

    Sheep mount

A pedestal is what I preference if you have the right place for it.

    My Ram

That's a great story, could be "movie material"!

    Muley

Nice buck! Width isn't all it's cracked up to be, I'll take a narrower heavy horned buck any day.

Looks like my year to finally go

If you take any wart hogs or bush pigs you'll want to have them on a separate hunt ticket. Because they're swine it slows the expediting process considerably for your hides to return to the states! This use to be the case several years back so ask your PH about this. You might consider having...
