    Hunted for a little over an hour and got my 2. The second one had nice spurs! Great dog work once again. Just a beautiful day to be out with the dogs. I think they enjoy it more than I do, if that is possible!

    Gonna head out today for a little pheasant hunting again. Nice weather after about 6 days of rainy weather. I will report back with results! 37 degrees, sunny and 10 mph winds.....awesome weather!

    I always have a goal to shoot a MN public land rooster. Goal accomplished. The first couple outsmarted me by flying on the opposite side of bushes. But by applying every bit of brain capacity I have, I got the third one. Well okay. Truth be told, it was my labs who outsmarted it. But I didn’t miss!

    Leaves should be down in northern MN. Still a few clinging on in west central MN. Saw a woodcock hunting last roosters last week. Weather is going to get cooler on Sunday, which will be fantastic for your hunting. Maybe a little moisture, but nothing in our forecast to suggest a washout.

    Been out four times. Got 2 roosters twice, didnt even see a bird twice. In all fairness, the last time I didnt see a bird got cut short as my son's truck water pump and serpentine belt gave up the fight on the freeway and hour and a half from home. Pulling an enclosed trailer. Was a busy night.

    I have to admit, my best hunting wear has kept me warm on those early track meets. Man, they can get cold. Wonder if I should buy one of those sleeping bags with armholes for $XXXX to keep me warm? Do they make them with a Cardinal emblazoned on the front to show off my school pride?

    Wood pellets for your pellet grill. Cheap. Work perfect and only give out a woodsy smell.
