If you are bringing firearms, make sure to print out your airlines instructions for how to check a firearm as checked baaggage, the counter person may be unfamiliar with the process. Pack ammo in a hard case or in original manufacturer packaging.
I always flew out with 40 Mile, never flew with Zack. I saw a YouTube hunt from 2 to 3 years ago where he dropped some guys who got a nice bull. If you could find the video, maybe you could connect with them and ask some questions about potential spots and flying with Tok Air. Best of luck to you!
Posted this in the "Hunting in Alaska" Subforum, didn't get any hits. Figured I would post here in case this forum gets to different forum members...

I'll be in Anchorage on vacation for about 10 days in June. I have a decent supply of .338 Winchester Magnum factory ammo left over from my remote Alaska moose and caribou hunting days. The following types are available:
SWIFT – 250 grain A Frame – 114 rounds - $70/box

I have a variety of .338 WinMag factory ammo for sale - it's not the type you mentioned above, but shoot me a PM if you have any interest in any of it -
SWIFT – 250 grain A Frame – 114 rounds
FEDERAL PREMIUM – 250 grain Nosler Partition – 20 rounds
FEDERAL PREMIUM – 210 Nosler Partition – 18...
Alaska's more than twice the size of Texas...can you be slightly more specific on the area you will be hunting?
If you have lots of rain gear, bring a quality set with some tape for repair. Don't bring any of the cheap stuff that gets torn when you walk through alders or other brush...
I used a Ruger Model 77 in .338 WinMag for Alaska moose and caribou hunting for many years. Did my last remote Alaska hunt in Fall of 2023, so I will probably sell my .338 soon. I love that rifle more than any other I ever owned, and it seemed to fit me like a glove. My only regret is not...
Prayers up for your daughter and for you and your family. Kids are really resilient, but it sucks when they have things like this hurdle to tackle. Hoping the rheumatologist can work a good plan with you.
Yup, Savage 340. Shot my first couple of deer with mine many moons ago. Mine was a shooter, pretty impressed with it for a relatively inexpensive rifle.
Sold it to a guy who had never shot anything bigger than a .22. He flinched when he shot it, and was about a foot wide of centee at 100 yards...
I don't think it bodes well that the bull went 250 yards and then turned up a steep slope. I am no elk expert tho, so hopefully some of the seasoned elk hunters chime in soon.
If this guy posts his drone footage on Youtube and draws a bunch of new traffic to this area, that might be considered harm...if he makes money from the footage, even worse.
Might be a good idea to check with some who have floated that area. I haven't floated the Yukon, but have read several accounts of strong winds on the Yukon that made floating downstream quite a chore. Can't remember what stretch of the Yukon it was.
I still have some .338 Winchester Magnum factory ammo for sale. Available for the price listed below; the buyer would also assume the shipping cost for UPS Ground shipment within the contiguous 48 states.
The various ammo brands are shown below, as well as the quantity of each brand. “/box”...
Hard to wander in the thick brush along the rivers. Maybe ease along the river looking for sign, and still hunt slow in areas where there seem to be sign. Moose can move really quietly when they want to, take your time and watch and listen. August seems a little early for calling.
BUMP - to show what ammo is still available. I don't think we will see the prices below on the A Frames or the Federal Premium online or in retail stores for a long time, if ever.
SWIFT – 250 grain A Frame – 114 rounds - $80/box
FEDERAL PREMIUM – 250 grain Nosler Partition – 20 rounds - $60...
