Thanks Randy!! I've been told 10 percent of the hunters kill 90 percent of the elk and n.v I agree 100 percent. Weve only hunted antelope in Wyoming so Hopefully this will be the start of some better elk hunting than we do in Colorado. -

Yeah we usually hike 1000 vertical feet to about 10000 ft and about 3 miles from the truck where we hunt in Colorado. Most of the time we are in the elk year after year. -

2014 Colorado OTC Archery Elk
Unit 70 and 62. I have hunted both during rifle seasons. Never during bow season. In 70 you might try lizard head wilderness for high hunting or mailbox park for pin ions and cedars. In unit 62 we hunted near short point and monument hill. Good luck. -

Waiting on a Colorado Elk tag. With so many online applications these days the states should have a faster turn around on the draw. I know they want to keep OUR money in their account as long as possible to draw interest off it, but it would be nice if we just knew if we were going or not way in... -
Leftover tags
Have the regs in front of me now. They had tags leftover for unit 44 for cow 1st season, or Private land either sex 1st season only. The public land either sex tag for 1st season sold out last year. They did have 4th season either sex tags available last year for public land though. Good luck. -
Leftover tags
If you look in the Colorado Regs booklet there is generally a star beside the hunts that had leftover tags last year. Also if you can gain access to private land you can get a better chance at buying a leftover tag.
