    Not on Your Bucket List

Haha! I definitely get why people wouldn’t want to shoot a zebra. I hunted Africa in 2012 and would easily take western big game over it any day. That being said, zebra were by far the most cagey animal I hunted there and the most fun, and a mature stallion was as spooky and challenging as any...

    Not on Your Bucket List

Wild hogs are about the only thing that comes to mind. I’ve killed turkeys but they don’t do anything for me. Other than that, I just love to hunt so pretty much anything is fair game.

Montana - Time to Shake it Up?

We certainly have our share of issues with resident hunters. I’m hopeful this will be a good committee of conservation minded resident hunters. From what I’ve seen as far as non resident hunters in eastern MT, I wouldn’t say the rest of the country has much to brag about either. Lol

12 deer points in WY, what area to apply for?

😂👍. I can’t believe how many guys deer hunt in that area.

12 deer points in WY, what area to apply for?

Did you mean 90’s behind a couple trees? Lol

    Montana Mule Deer Mismanagement

I was the same way. They will kill them in numbers pretty efficiently on ice or deep snow like you mentioned.

    Montana Mule Deer Mismanagement

yotes are pretty impressive as survivors and killers. There’s a small fishing dam near us on the edge of a small town. They’ve learned to push the mule deer out onto the ice when there’s little to no snow and slippery. They can’t move any good on that slick ice. I’ve witnessed several times...

    Montana Mule Deer Mismanagement

You think there are a lot of coyotes until you talk to the guys shooting them out of the planes. It’ll blow your mind. I know of a ranch(not a huge ranch) with a feed lot that they flew last winter and killed around 150 in a day just on and right near that ranch.

Screwing over the Non-resident (or not)?

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve never felt wronged by another state charging me way more than they would a resident to hunt/fish, and im certainly not swimming in cash, or maybe taking 10 years to draw what a resident can every year or two. But I also don’t feel owed anything by anyone either I...

    Montana Mule Deer Mismanagement

There are coyotes everywhere it seems anymore. There was a local guy who sat a dead pile at a nearby feedlot this winter for about 4 hours one night this winter. He shot 41 coyotes with his suppressed rifle.

    Montana Mule Deer Mismanagement

I think the fawn to doe ratios is a separate issue most likely caused by weather(drought, harsh winter, etc). We don’t really have any control over that. The only thing we can control is managing ourselves and only killing numbers that still allows the herds to hopefully maintain or flourish...

Broken drill bit removal in rifle stock

It’s mostly the locals that do that. The non residents just park in the middle of the road with their doors open and start walking the ditches. Lol

Broken drill bit removal in rifle stock

Good point. We’d fit right in here in eastern MT.

Broken drill bit removal in rifle stock

Haha. The stock is already short enough my small 9 year old daughter can shoot it.

Broken drill bit removal in rifle stock

I ended up just covering it for now and drilled new holes and got the riser on. I’ll probably end up eventually just using a punch to push in just a bit farther and then fill in and paint over. Can’t see it anyways under the riser.

    NFA Wait Times

Just shot my first group with a suppressor. So much fun. Not that there was a lot of recoil anyways, but almost no recoil and not so damn loud. Seekins 6.5 prc. Just shot some Hornady factory ammo since I didn’t feel like wasting my reloads shooting farther in the wind. 4 shot 3/8” group at 100...

Leupold scopes love or hate em?

I’ve had a vx3 on my 7mm. Haven’t had to adjust my zero through 4 seasons. I have 3 other leupolds with no issues so far.
