Elk Meat ?
I was talking about letting the meat sit in the fridge for a week. As far as letting game hang until it turns black on the outside, it won't hurt a thing but you waste meat.- BowElkStalker

Montana Bull
Thanks everyone! We never got into the elk during archery season when she was with me so it was a thrill to get this one with the rifle. We have a three day hunt in the Deer lodge NF coming up and will get a few other day hunts so I hope she will have another chance. Really nice here in MT...- BowElkStalker

Don't do this, good way to get sick. Wild game does not and should not be aged. Take a bit of backstrap right off the elk onto the fire and I bet it tastes as good as one that has hung around a bit. Tikka .270WSM loaded with 130sst. The best part of this hunt was having my daughter with me. She could have shot a cow but did not feel comfortable taking the shot.
