Glad you had fun. I should have mentioned gear. My dad has a couple surf rods and the are probably 10' with braided line and he uses fairly large jigs. Way bigger than we would use up here in the states on fresh water. They cast way out and you reel as fast as you can. It get's tiring real quick!
If you can try them on for fit. I've had many of the top brands and settled on Exo years ago. They keep getting better too with K4 having multiple size options to fit most body types and sizes.
I've only been by boat but there is a resort, I think Tecolote about five miles west of the point we usually fish near. I see roads extending from Tecolote that will get you access to that rocky shoreline all the way to the point. We got our live bait in front of Tecolote last time but the time...
@Irrelevant I really don't think you have anything to worry about as far as current situation down there. My parents live in La Paz and my brother lives in Cabo. Both have said life is normal this past week.
As for fishing La Paz, I've gone guided twice in the last two years and both times we...
went guided in griz country and we always left and tried to be back with some light. could be because we were already in huntable country, could be because they didn't want any surprises.
I'm not in ETF's as of now. Have been considering that route after the metals market cools...and after I dump my physical silver. I might see if I can sell privately to reduce the hit from SPOT pricing.
I bought 100 oz of silver bars and coins back in 2009 ish timeframe. Average price was around $30/oz. If I had invested $3000 in the S&P, it would have grown to about $20,000 today. Instead, my physical silver is only worth $10,000. I did buy silver high compared to the year before and after my...
I think this is a great way to go.
Another option, although more demanding and less consistent but also much less expensive is to buy a used chest freezer and place horizontal bars along the top to keep meat upright. Problem is you have to either crack the lid or turn it on/off to keep it from...
Will you still carry bino's? I assume no as I don't see a huge benefit in an image stabilized spotter...except for windy situations. Especially cool if you don't need bino's and you can use this as a mono.
flipping of this curve is certainly a direct correlation with the amount of information online allowing outsiders to study hunts and hunt areas. I'm guilty in that I don't study my own state hunts as much as I should.
This is an issue in Idaho too. I do like the idea as a resident of reducing non-res tag numbers but another part of the solution is for Washington to open up more hunting opportunities to residents. I don't know much about Washington, I just hear it's difficult at best as a resident to hunt there.
I'm curious of those with experience in this area, in general is the first week better than the last? I know weather is a factor but if you found a good buck the first week, would you hold out in confidence you'd find an exceptional buck the longer you wait? or is there too much risk in getting...
I drew the same tag this year. DM me your contact and maybe we can stay in touch. All my research is to drive and glass, drive and glass to cover as much country as possible. I may do that to find groups of deer but it will kill me not to hike into some areas that can't be seen from the road. I...
I setup a Ruger American 6.5CM for my kids and use the 143 ELD-X and they are very accurate. I will say, I let my son shoot a spike last year at 600 yds with it and the first shot was perfect, behind the shoulder and hit a rib. The bullet did enough damage to kill it but it was still standing so...
